Dark souls prepare to die edition

Dark souls is perhaps one of the most difficult games I have ever played, even though it's insanely difficult the game never really goes beyond the point of "oh that was obviously my fault for the bad tactics I used" which is great because every death (and there are plenty) feels like it was your fault not the game being unfair.

Dark souls is set in a fantasy medieval/renaissance type world filled with undead soldiers, towering beasts, and a guy who praises the sun. You start out by seeing your character as a sentient undead being (called hollows) who has to fight his/her way through an undead asylum and break free into the rest of the world. After doing so you meet a very undesirable npc who tells you how to get turned back into an alive human being and what do first on your adventure.

The gameplay is fluid and really fun IF your playing on console or have an xbox controller you can use on your pc otherwise the game is a mess if you try playing with a keyboard due to poorly mapped controls. An interesting feauture of the game is when you get your humanity back (become an alive human) players can either be summoned into your world or invade it. If summoned the other player helps you in your quest and is rewarded with gear or souls (the currency and way you level up is through using souls collected from enemies you kill) and if they invade your world they find there way to you and you are forced to duel with them until either you or they die.

the game isn't the greatest visually but that is fixed by a semi active modding community on the pc which has released mods that completely re-texture the game making it look far more beautiful and immersive  than before.

I give dark souls an 8/10 it's definitely worth buying and will provide 100's of hours worth of gameplay (no joke this game is huge)

Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon

Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon is a comedic blast from the past. The game is stylized like an 80's science fiction straight to vhs movie complete with the loading screen looking like scan lines from a t.v. Everything is lined with neon lights and all the weapons eventually shoot lasers!

You play as Rex Power Colt (voiced by Michael Biehn) A cyber enhanced soldier (complete with robotic arms and bionic eye) who's mission is to disable a nuke on an island inhabited by cyborgs led by his ex mentor turned evil. This game was made by ubisoft a while after Far Cry 3 was released, although they share the same name they are in no way related story wise.

This game was a laugh a minute from purposely low quality cutscenes to using a hand grip (pictured left) to restore health Blood dragon was a goofy experience from start to finish.

The game play was virtually identical to Far Cry 3 which means it was easy to learn fun to play and had smart enemy ai that would use battle tactics more advanced than just "stand still and shoot" with the only differences in the game being you run faster jump higher and take no fall damage. The game gets the name Blood Dragon from the gigantic komodo dragon like creatures that the inhabitants of the islands call Blood Dragons due to their thirst of blood robotic or human. The player distracts these monstrous beast by throwing cyborg hearts the player pillages from dead body's at them, this allows the player time to run from it or get ready to fight it.

I give FC3:BD a 7/10 it was a fun game but a very short experience with a normal play through of the game capable of being only 6 hours long
