Background information

Hello before I start doing mod and texture pack reviews I thought that i would provide a little background information for you guys. Minecraft is a computer game that was first released in 2009 as an alpha version. (alpha is before beta which comes before full release.) Since then it has grown and expanded into the game it is today. Minecraft has also been released for smart phones (Minecraft pocket edition.) and for the xbox 360 (Minecraft xbox 360 edition.) however the PC/Mac version is the most advanced one up to date. Minecraft has three different playing modes: Survival: in survival mode you are put into a world with literally nothing but you hands you then have to punch trees (and get wood!) to build a crafting bench where you can make tools to help you mine, chop, farm, get wool of sheep non lethally, start a fire etcetera. however you have to build shelter before night fall or an array of monsters will come out and try to kill you some of the monsters are creepers: creepers dont directly hurt you but if you stay to close to one for to long it will blow up, zombies (self explanatory), and giant spiders. then there is creative mode: creative mode is for those who dont want to try to survive and just want to build. in creative mode you are invincible, you can fly, and you have every item in the game at your disposal. this mode is used by many map makers so they can make a more in depth map. finally there is the unforgiving Hardcore mode: hardcore mode is the same as survival mode except that monsters do more damage and if you die there is NO re spawning thus forcing you to delete that world this is obviously the most unforgiving mode. what is intresting about minecraft is the way the graphics look. instead of looking extremely realistic like most games today it is a very pixelated game with block shaped everything here is an example picture from one of my games

So I hope that I have now enlightend you on what exactly Minecraft is my usual schedule will be Tuesdays: mod review Thursdays: texture pack review
