starbound review

Starbound is a 2-d open world planetary exploration game that takes heavy influence from the game terraria. The player starts by choosing a race (Apex a bipedal ape like humanoid, Avian a bird like humanoid race, Floran a race of sentient plant beings, Glitch a robotic race created by an unknown race, human self explanatory, and Hylotl a sea creature race) and then see their character in a space ship with a small window explaining the back story of their character. After this they are given a mission to find fuel for their ship to get back to their home planet. The player is then beamed down to randomly generated planet filled with hostile and non hostile creatures, trees, numerous metals and ores to mine and assorted plant life. After some time and resource management the player can craft a distress beacon to call for help, unfortunately this only calls a ufo filled with penguin people who hunt you until you kill them or they kill you. After your encounter supplies to make fuel spawn and you can start your journey of interstellar travel and survival against the numerous monsters and befriend and team up with the friendlier creatures of the universe.
